Provo is the home to Brigham Young University, a private higher education institution operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). It is Utah's second-largest metropolitan area after Salt Lake City. Provo is the principal city in the Provo-Orem metropolitan area, which had a population of 526,810 at the 2010 census.
